I saw this group and, while I don't get migraines (well, easily identifiable migraines) terribly often, I get them enough to empathize and to want to have others to talk to about them.
For me, the most common symptoms I get include sharp pains in one or both eyes, feeling like one side of my head (usually the side with the "poked" eye, if only one is acting up) is being crushed, nausea, and pain down into my jaw and teeth. Sometimes they last a few hours, on occasions they've lasted a few days. I also get other headaches that aren't the kinds that are so painful you can't think, but just sort of sit there in the back of my head for a couple weeks at a time.
I know two of my triggers - red wine and perfumes - and not just the kind of perfumes you get in a perfume bottle, either. I cannot handle the fragrances in most shampoos, conditioners, after shave, lotions, deodorants, air fresheners, cleaning products or candles and so on. I do ok with most "essential oils" that are extracted directly from the plant and aren't mixed with anything other than a basic, unscented "carrier" oil (like almond oil,) but when you get into "fragrance oils" or the more commercial kind of fragrances, I'll be out of it for quite some time. When I was still able to work, that sensitivity almost cost me my job - so many women in my office wore perfumes, scented "beauty products" or kept (unlit, but still quite noticeable) scented candles at their desks, and I ended up going home early on a somewhat regular basis. Ugh.
Anyway, just thought I'd say "hi" - I'm interested in learning more and sharing what I can!
Take care!

Hey Thorswitch! Welcome! Thanks for sharing your story.
It's funny because I don't have triggers anymore, I probably did at some point well back in the past. But the weird thing is I am allergic to red wine (the sufites) and to most perfumes. The perfumes just make my allergies go haywire but don't trigger headaches or migraine attacks.
My brain is so over-stimulated because of the migraine disease that I can smell perfume miles away or days after coming in contact with someone. The smell is just as strong as if they were right under my nose. I tend to buy all unscented products.
1I know just what you mean I can't take the smells either ,I shampoo my hair and condition it and my face is burning,I feel like peeling out of my skin!I do have the one sided migraines and everything on that side of my face is affected,I'm now living on Maxalt, not as often as a month ago but at least twice a week, maybe hormonal.
